Mountain biking

We went mountain biking up at Dalby yesterday - the weather was perfect. The track-side verges were filled with flowers and butterflies - lots of spotted orchids. There were hardly any people - on a sunny day they head for the coast rather than up on the moors. I had a long chat with Graham afterwards. He runs the mountain bike business and is thinking of giving it up in September because they've increased the cost of his lease. Which would be a real shame. He wouldn't let me pay the hire charge on my bike which was very sweet of him. Little Tom is getting a lot stronger now, he managed the long uphill stretch from Low Dalby to the plateau without stopping. They've made a new bike skills jumping banked bends place by the Adder Stone Rig so we stopped there for lunch whilst Tom zoomed about. Then on to Jingleby Farm for chocolate cake and tea. Jilly's legs began to turn to jelly towards the end, but by that time we were heading back along the beck on the level. On the way home we bought some eggs from the farm by Eden's camp. Then Jilly and Tom fell asleep in the car.
